Job Overview

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager to lead the establishment and execution of an Artificial Intelligence Centre of Excellence (AI CoE) within our investment bank. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving AI strategy, overseeing implementation of AI/ML use cases across business units, and ensuring alignment with regulatory, risk, and business priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Establish and lead the AI CoE, defining its governance, frameworks, KPIs, and success metrics.

  • Develop and maintain the AI roadmap, prioritizing initiatives in alignment with business strategy and technological maturity.

  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycle for AI initiatives – from ideation and feasibility, through to delivery and post-implementation review.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business units (e.g., investment banking, risk, compliance, operations) to identify AI opportunities and drive adoption.

  • Act as the primary liaison between data science teams, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure AI solutions are impactful, scalable, and secure.

  • Monitor and report progress, ensuring timely delivery within scope, budget, and compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Lead change management efforts to promote AI literacy, adoption, and ethical use within the organization.

  • Evaluate, onboard, and manage external vendors and technology partners where required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years leading AI, data analytics, or digital transformation initiatives.

  • Prior experience in financial services or investment banking is highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies, data governance, and model risk management frameworks.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage senior stakeholders.

  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification is a plus.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

  • Strong awareness of regulatory frameworks (e.g., BNM, SC) related to data and technology.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS & Azure) and MLOps tools.

  • Exposure to AI ethics, explainable AI (XAI), and responsible AI frameworks.

  • Knowledge of regional banking landscape and innovation trends in Southeast Asia.
