Mystery Case File Game Writer/ Designer

Auto Import

We’re looking for an experienced mystery game designer / narrative writer to develop full case content for a mystery-solving game, similar to Unsolved Case Files.

Players will solve a fictional crime by reviewing a case file containing realistic materials such as:

• police reports

• crime scene photos

• witness statements

• suspect profiles

• interview transcripts

• newspaper clippings

• evidence logs, timelines, maps, screenshots, etc.

The game should be designed so that players feel like real detectives, piecing together clues from documents.

Deliverables

1. A complete “case pack”, including:

• full plot + timeline

• list of reveals

• summary of how the mystery is solvable

2. Character Dossiers

• victim + all suspects/witnesses (profiles)

3. Evidence List

• list of every evidence item and what it’s for (incl. red herrings)

4. All Written Assets

• interview transcripts

• witness statements

• police reports

• articles, texts, notes, etc.

5. Answer Key + Hints

• structured answers for each objective

• hint system content

Note: You are not required to do graphic design, but your documents should be written in a way that can easily be formatted by our design team (clear titles, dates, case numbers, etc.).

Please include:

• 1–2 examples of mystery writing or interactive narrative work

• If available: puzzle design samples (escape room, detective game, branching narrative, etc.)
