Buyer II – Federal, FAR/DFAR

- Creates and issues requests for quotes for services and materials in support of federal and commercial projects in accordance with internal policies and federal procurement requirements
- Analyzes supplier quotations, selects strategic partners and manages internal customers
- Assists in negotiating favorable pricing and terms and conditions
- Prepares and places purchase orders using Ariba; use Costpoint to review supplier information
- Monitors the cost, schedule and performance metrics of purchase orders
- Organizes, maintains and updates purchase orders, information, systems and documentation. Tracks back-orders in Ariba
- Assists in the implementation and communication of company procurement policies and procedures
- Reviews and remediates Invoice Reconciliations
- Must be able to prioritize work in a dynamic environment, shifting focus as needed to meet deadlines and organizational needs
- Must have excellent organizational skills
Requirements:
- 2-4 years of related buying experience with a bachelor’s degree
- In lieu of degree, 6-8 years of buying experience may be considered.
- Must be U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident.
- Experience with Federal (FAR/DFARS) procurement requirements, and accounting and receiving practices/procedures
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, with ability to solve problems and effectively communicate with internal clients and external suppliers.
- Must be able to follow the process for developing compliant files
- Must be able to meet proposal, budget, and purchase order deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team and build collaborative relationships
- SAP Ariba experience is a plus
- Ability to demonstrate time management and organizational skills.
